Launching an SMM panel comes down to two paths: buy a script and host everything yourself, or rent a ready panel. At first glance your own script is cheaper — pay once and own it. In practice the script price is just the entry ticket.
What hides behind "your own script"
A script is just code. To make money it needs infrastructure around it, and that costs time and money every month:
- Server — a VPS to rent, plus upgrades as orders grow.
- Protection — DDoS attacks on SMM panels are common; you need protection.
- SSL, backups, updates — regularly and by hand.
- Provider API support — providers change their APIs and the panel needs fixing.
- A developer — sooner or later you'll need someone to maintain it all.
The result: a "one-time" purchase turns into ongoing technical costs and, above all, spent time. Time spent on servers and bugs is time not spent on customers and sales.
What hides behind "renting"
Renting takes the infrastructure off your plate: engine, servers, protection, updates — all on the service side. But most hosted panels have one downside — a subscription from day one. You haven't brought a single customer yet, and the subscription is already ticking.

None of this appears in a price comparison, yet it's what closes most panels in their first year.
When to choose what
Your own script makes sense if you already have large stable turnover and an in-house dev team. In every other case — especially at the start and while testing the niche — renting with a free entry removes the risk: you lose nothing until you start earning.
